17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering and without pretension.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace.
Oh, to have wisdom from above. It’s not something we can decide to act like. Wisdom from above comes from God himself, through the power of the Holy Spirit living in us. He changes our perspective, our responses, and our insights. We no longer see things the way the world does. We have a heavenly perspective that I believe fills a vacuum that we all possess.
How often do we hear of people leaving the hustle and bustle of their everyday life to go someplace that is quiet, peaceful, gentle, calm. A place where they can be themselves without pretension.
We were made for this Godly way. Anything else is counterfeit.
As our faith and our relationship with God grows, we produce the fruit of righteousness cultivated in peace. It is a result, not a decision. Just as maturing as human beings takes time, so does this. It’s not an instantaneous change; it’s progress obtained as we walk the path God has for those who love Him.
